Spring Membership Campaign

GOING BIG IN SPRING – THE KEY TO GROWING OUR CHAPTERS

IT’S BEEN A YEAR OF WINS.

2016 has already been one for the record books for AZA and BBG. #AZABBGFallPush was an incredible success – we brought hundreds of now Brother Alephs and Sister BBGs into our movement and we were able to truly feel the power of our Order because of your efforts. Now, as spring begins and you’re either looking toward continuing to build your legacy before graduation or you’re trying to chart out what your next year in BBYO will bring, we want to invest in you and your recruitment efforts. We know that when you’re recruiting new members, everyone wins. This is why we’re bringing you #RUSHAZA and #RUSHBBG.

Let’s get it trending. Download the #RUSHAZA and #RUSHBBG graphics below.

LAUNCHING #RUSHAZA AND #RUSHBBG.

The idea behind #RUSHAZA and #RUSHBBG is simple – envision hundreds of chapters around the Order having multiple chapter programs in the span of a week and a half, leading to rapid fire recruitment. Chapters can show prospective members and current members how many opportunities there are in BBYO by “rushing” them through the different events they can attend. Our goal is for you and your chapter to host a program, a meal, and a weekend event over a short time span (think 10 days). This gives you an opportunity to show off some high quality programming, provide opportunities to see current friends and build new friendships, as well as show your prospective new members – on three separate occasions – just how wanted and welcome they are with us in BBYO.

HOW DO I MAKE IT WORK FOR MY CHAPTER?

You get to choose what time and which programs are going to work best for your chapter. It’s not about every city doing it the same way or at the same time, it’s just about everyone taking the concept of #RUSHAZA and #RUSHBBG and building it out for your community. Need to spread it out over two weeks? No problem. Condensing it down to a whirlwind of 7 days? We love it.

WE’RE IN. LET’S START PROGRAMMING.

By engaging new, returning and prospective members through dynamic programming, they'll get to join knowing the true experience AZA and BBG can provide. Most importantly, this isn’t just for the Morim to work on, this should be an all hands on deck effort from your chapter. If you’re in the market for some program ideas, we’ve got you covered. Take one of the IC 2015 or IC 2016 Chapter Showcase Programs and make it your own, using the program planning and evaluation forms to keep you organized.

OKAY, WE DID IT. NOW WHAT?

If you’ve done #RUSHAZA and #RUSHBBG to the best of your ability, you’re just a few steps away from welcoming new Alephs and BBGs into your chapter. Here are the next steps:

  1. Make sure that you’re keeping track of your new friends using our favorite tool – a record sheet.
  2. Follow up with everyone who attended your events. Make sure that you’re thanking them for coming, continuing to get to know them, and telling them the date of your next meeting/program/convention. Revisit the programming funnel if you need ideas for next programs (think member only events).
  3. Invite them to join us. If you’ve done a good job hosting, they should be eager to become a member. People can’t join BBYO if they’re never asked.

This initiative is truly driven by the grassroots and core of our movement: the chapters. Every member that you bring into the Order is a win for us all – when we strengthen the movement, we broaden our ability to impact our communities and change the world around us.

Check out the resources below and read on to see how we’re looking forward to partnering with you to strengthen the movement. Share this page or the #RushAZA #RushBBG guide with your chapter to get started.

Strengthen the Movement

Want to take part in strengthening the movement through #RushAZA and #RushBBG? Here are the different ways that you can be a part of the membership challenge - once you've completed the membership challenge, submit your information using the form below.

MOVEMENT SHAPER: RECRUIT 3 MEMBERS

When you get 3 of your friends to sign up for a BBYO between March 15th, 2016 and May 15th, 2016, we’ll make sure that you rock your summer program experience in style. One night of your program, you’ll receive a special ‘Dine In, Eat Out’ meal on us. Can’t make it to a summer program? We’ll send you a limited edition flag with the Seal of the Aleph Zadik Aleph or the B’nai B’rith Girls.

MOVEMENT BUILDER: RECRUIT 6 MEMBERS

Did you think that International Awards were only given out at International Convention? Try again, friends. The Tree of Life and Eternal Light Recruitment Awards are honors given to those Alephs and BBGs who have played a significant and lasting part in growing the Aleph Zadik Aleph and B'nai B'rith Girls.

As a result of their efforts, they have contributed to the strengthening of our Order’s future. If you recruit six new members between March 15th, 2016 and May 15th, 2016, you will be eligible to receive the Tree of Life Recruitment Award or the Eternal Light Recruitment Award and the membership packet – a pin, certificate and AZA/BBG Lettered Sweatshirt. Apply for these awards here.

MOVEMENT TRAILBLAZER: RECRUIT 10 MEMBERS

Already crossed the recruitment awards off your list? Continue blazing the trail and recruit 10 new members between March 15th, 2016 and May 15th, 2016 to become an International Convention 2017 VIP. The VIP Package includes guaranteed registration, $100 scholarship, backstage/preferred seating, VIP lounge access, meet-and-greets with special guests, and VIP elevator access.

MOVEMENT PIONEER: START A NEW CHAPTER

The fastest way to grow our movement and the most enduring way to build a legacy is to start new chapters. Start a new chapter between March 15th, 2016 and May 15th, 2016, and two founding members will each receive all of our #RUSHAZA and #RUSHBBG incentives.

No more than two founding members of the new chapter can be existing members of AZA or BBG. The chapter must maintain a membership of at least 12 members, hold regular programs, participate in council or regional activities and meet the expectations of the council or regional board leadership and BBYO Professional Staff.

Alephs or BBGs that participate in this effort, will be recognized as members of the Aleph Class of the International AZA & BBG Founders Society – established at International February Executives Conference during International Convention 2016 in Baltimore, Maryland.
