NRE: D.C. Council Kicks it Off In Style
Two weeks ago, D.C. Council hosted our semi-annual kickoff dance! Over 575 teens came together for a night of fun as they danced the night away with their chapters and friends! At the end of the night, members were given a D.C. Council water bottle as a nice take-home from the event. We then had our semi-annual intake night, where we had close to 200 prospective members come to the JCC and check out all of the chapters! Each chapter put on a 7-minute showcase of what their chapter is like, and prospects were able to go around to each room and meet the members of the chapters and get a feel of what the chapters are like! The following week, chapters had their rush programs and invited many of these prospects to their events. The rush programs included programs such as a night at a local SportsPlex, a sports arena, for a night filled with sports, and another chapter had a great Shark Tank night! It has been an amazing past two weeks in terms of recruitment for D.C. Council and we can't wait to see all the prospects find their home in a chapter!
This week, we are having a registration party for International Convention 2016 in Baltimore. We can't wait to get everyone registered, because Northern Region East will be the biggest delegation at IC, we promise! Following the IC registration party, we will launch our initiative week, where each day a new BBYO initiative will be shown in creative ways to the members of D.C. Council! Get ready to see lots of tweets from D.C. Council members, talking about these initiatives starting on October 8th (tomorrow)!
