New MRIHA Resource Available: The Big-Little Experience

The Big–Little relationship, commonly a part of fraternity and sorority culture on college campuses, creates a family lineage that can be carried on every year strengthening the bonds individual members have with each other and the chapter overall. Each year, we add new members to the family line creating ‘Grand Bigs’, ‘Great-Grand Bigs’ and so on. Family trees can expand and continue for many generations!

The purpose of the Big during the AIT/MIT period is to act as a mentor for their assigned Little to ensure that they are happy, have rides to programs, are taken care of at large events, embrace learning about AZA or BBG and fall in love with BBYO during their on-board experience. The Big–Little experience is unique! The Big often becomes the Little’s first friend in BBYO, and their most valued role model. There is considerable mutual trust and respect in the relationship. They rely on each other for advice, support and meaning.
