Shavua Tov from BBYO Central Region West’s Spring Convention 2015!
Today has been a day full of programming, ranging from a wide variety of Shabbat services to a session discussing the importance of values through the lens of a famous Jewish deli (check back later for a post on this). Equally as important, today was the Regional Spirit Competition where Alephs and BBGs from across the Bay area demonstrated their chapter pride through friendly competition in different categories, including dance, video, song and visual art. While all chapters demonstrated large amounts of creative spirit, the Alephs of Simon Wiesenthal AZA #2524 pursued a more classic approach and chose to develop a traditional AZA anthem for their chapter.
Simon Wiesenthal AZA has a history of producing new songs and chants that become adopted at the region and even the international level. While this anthem is tailored specifically to their chapter, including chapter mascots and values, it is a great example of how to create a meaningful chapter song that is still fun to chant and sing.

Have an example of a chapter song that reflects the traditions of AZA and BBG? Send it my way to email@example.com. We’re trying to create a library of AZA and BBG music, and all appropriate contributions are welcome!Return to AZA and BBG Movement Updates
