Register for #AZABBGIC2014!

AZA, BBG and BBYO Families,

Wow. You made shattered records and made history. Our 90th anniversary celebration will be unprecedented.

As demand continues to grow, we want to update you on our plans for AZA BBG IC 2014 registration. Currently, we have nearly 2,000 delegates registered for Convention (not including staff, alumni, stakeholders, partners, etc.). AZA BBG IC 2014 will be our movement's biggest moment thus far.

Every North American region is represented well and we'll host a record-breaking contingency of international delegates from 15+ countries. We know there will be cancellations - there are every year. If you are applying for scholarship, we remain committed to do all that we can to help every teen who wants to join us at IC do so. We hope to partner with your local communities to make your attendance happen. Please continue to submit your scholarship application as quickly as you can (deadline is 10/31) so that we can respond to all requests as swiftly as possible.

As we are at a beyond ‘sold-out’ status, a wait list has been started. Alephs and BBGs should feel free to add themselves to the wait list as we expect we’ll be able to admit additional attendees over the next few weeks. All registered teens must have a deposit down (unless otherwise arranged with Sabrina Moore) by Friday (10/18) or will be transferred to the wait list. Canadian delegates, we'll begin to contact you for deposits/payment. International delegates, we'll begin confirming your registrations over the coming weeks.

If you are already registered for IC, and are interested in registering for one of the many pre-conference experiences, please scroll to the Registration Options section below!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to be in touch at AZABBGIC@BBYO.org. We want to make sure that everyone has the information they need so that teens, families and BBYO professionals are all sharing the same information. As always, you can reference the AZA BBG IC 2014 website at www.bbyo.org/azabbgic.

Thank you again for all of your enthusiasm for this historic shared success. We look forward to building an unprecedented convention with all of you that celebrates AZA’s 90th anniversary, BBG’s 70th anniversary and BBYO’s bright future!

(CJT) The Coalition of Jewish Teens Summit
To achieve the Jewish communal future that our community deserves, we must build one that is inclusive, collaborative, dynamic and accessible to all. While our community can celebrate different denominations, perspectives and opinions, we must all recognize the indisputable potential for impact that our generation can have on the future of our People if we work together, too. The Coalition of Jewish Teens, or CJT, was created with the purpose of bringing together Jewish teens from all different youth movements, including BBYO, NCSY, NFTY, USY and Young Judaea. While we may function as different movements, we are connected by our passion and desire to fulfill tikkun olam, our responsibility to repair the world. Together we must create a more inclusive and open Jewish community for today and tomorrow. At IC, we will be joined by a delegation of approximately 50 of NFTY’s top North American leadership as well as delegates from the other major youth movements to advance our work together. Members of the ILN will be invited to participate in this pivotal program.

Connect Leadership Engagement Summit
The Connect Leadership Engagement Summit (CLES) is open to all AZA and BBG chapter, council and regional BBYO Connect chairpersons, Morim or those interested in these positions. CLES will explore ways to further develop participant skills to amplify chapter ownership of middle school programming and rehearse strategies to achieve strong 8th grade recruitment, transitioning Jewish teens from middle school involvement to high school participation, and thereby, AZA and BBG membership. CLES will establish a network of AZA and BBG leaders committed to further engaging thousands of young Jewish teens following B’nai Mitzvah before high school begins. Leaders that attend this conference will be expected to remain involved as BBYO Connect leaders in their home communities for the next year.

CLES is free to all participants but requires a commitment to facilitate a training session on the topics covered for their peers at all levels of their community. There is a cap of four teens per council or region, and they must be approved by their chapter advisor, council or regional staff. If more than four teens from your community are interested in attending, we will ask the local field professional to select which four representatives should attend. Teens attending the BBYO Connect Leadership Engagement Summit must be teens that are also attending AZA BBG International Convention 2014.

Cancellations from the Summit less than three weeks in advance will result in a $100 fee to reimburse for the guaranteed cost required by BBYO to pay the hotel.
