BBYO is the world’s leading pluralistic Jewish teen movement aspiring to involve more Jewish teens in more meaningful Jewish experiences. Each year, BBYO’s AZA BBG International Convention (IC) represents one of the largest annual gatherings of Jewish teens worldwide. IC brings together thousands of Jewish teen leaders from at least 15 countries across North America, Europe, South America, Africa, Turkey and Israel – alongside hundreds of BBYO alumni, parents, advisors, professional staff, top Jewish philanthropists and opinion leaders – over President’s Day weekend in February for five action-packed days filled with sharing, learning, growth and fun.
IC 2014 will be our largest and most extraordinary International Convention to date. We are thrilled that BBYO Lonestar Region and BBYO North Texas Oklahoma will host the launch of our 90th anniversary celebration. Globally, Texas is home to one of BBYO’s largest communities with approximately 3,000 locally involved teens. Inspired by a spirited host community and unparalleled opportunities for service, advocacy and learning across the community, we’re going to break all records this year.
Jewish television channels, satellite and online radio stations, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) and several local, national and international Jewish newspaper outlets will cover International Convention. Secular press outlets at the local and national level will also report on IC. AZA BBG IC 2013 guests included U.S. President Barack Obama, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice, Democratic National Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel (R-OH), CEO of Invisible Children Ben Keesey, United States Trade Representative Michael Froman, rising hip-hop musicians TimeFlies and Hoodie Allen and more than 110 partner and community service agencies.
BBYO is seeking sponsorships to help subsidize and amplify the IC program while ensuring affordability for our teen participants. As a socially minded and highly energized group of Jewish teen leaders passionate about affecting social change, IC offers an excellent opportunity for sponsors to cultivate a relationship and build name recognition with this vibrant youth demographic.
Financial support of International Convention 2014 will help provide this transformative experience to as many Jewish teens as possible, ensuring new global friendships, extraordinary memories for years to come and a passionate, vibrant Jewish future. We thank you for considering a contribution in support of IC 2014!
