From Generation To Generation

“When I learned about the Holocaust in Temple and in school, I just couldn’t believe some of the things my educators have said. The unbelievable amount of deaths and horrifying torture that the Jews went through was unreal. But walking through the camps, the gas chambers, the prisons – it was mind blowing. And doing it alongside these incredibly courageous and strong survivors was incredibly inspiring. I’m so blessed to be a part of this trip and I cannot wait to see what else is in store.” – Courtney Pories

"I am having an amazing trip. I have met lots of new people and have had many opportunities to see what I have learned in my history class so far. The most meaningful part for me was watching a video of a woman whose family hid 15 people during the Holocaust. She said if it happened again she would do it in a heartbeat. It was so special." – Alina

"Walking through Auschwitz with a Holocaust survivor made it such an eye-opening experience. To hear from someone that had a horrific experience at the camps made it more terrifying." – Samantha Simon, Evergreen Region

"When we all said the mourners Kaddish together as a kehillah (a community), it really hit me that we, as the next generation, have the obligation to pray for those who perished, speak for those who could not have, and to live our lives the fullest in honor of those whose lives were taken." – Briana Krasner, Central Region East
