Making an Impact

When I had initially signed up for this trip all I had anticipated was three-days off of school with friends. After yesterday's service at the Ronald McDonald House I truly feel that this whole experience has made a lasting impact. Maybe it was the beautiful weather or maybe I had gotten extra hours of sleep, but something hit home after working in that Ronald McDonald House and I truly felt as though I had made an impact in someone’s life. I felt proud of what I had done and was inspired to do more to help the community. Thankfully, that opportunity came in the form of the Street Torah exercise. After helping those who were homeless I again felt inspired to go out and do more to help those in need. While this experience had started as a fun get together, I feel as though it has already given me knowledge and experience that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Today was a most glorious day. After eating a healthy breakfast, Group A embarked on a marvelous day filled with meaningful community service. I had the privilege of traveling to the Ronald McDonald House, where we baked delectable treats for the guests. I am really looking forward to the days to come.
