Looking at the Issues

This has been an amazing opportunity to meet new people and learn new things about controversial topics. I am enjoying my time here and am happy that I came.

Today, as a member of the group paying special attention to immigration, I had an awesome time! This morning we listened to two panelists discuss the social issue that is immigration. We had a group discussion with them, learned a lot, and discussed as a group after.
This afternoon we had D.C. free time, and I chose to go to the Holocaust Museum. It was not my first trip to a Holocaust museum, but of course it was still touching and I learned a lot. Surprisingly, I found that some of the Nazi propaganda and ignorant attitudes toward the Jews and all others affected were easily relatable to the immigration issue we had been discussing.
Later we heard and learned from a representative from AIPAC. Next was dinner, and after dinner we watched “9500 Liberty.” This documentary was an emotional one about the immigration issue we had heard about all day. It was a great conclusion and we ended in a discussion on the movie, the topic, and the day.
