A Mini Interview with a future CLTC Attendee- Sam Shapiro of CVR!

1. Of all the summer programs available, why did you choose CLTC?
I chose CLTC because I think that it's the program that can develop my leadership skills in a way that can fit my chapter and region the best. I served on chapter board for the first time this year but I don't think I did the best job that I could have done, so I hope that CLTC will help prepare me to serve my chapter better in the coming programming year.
2. What do you think you’ll learn there?
I think (and hope) that I'll be able to learn more about what it truly means to be a leader in BBYO. I've only been a member for a little over a year, so I've led a couple of chapter and regional programs, but I don't think I have the "spark" that can command respect and send a meaningful message when I'm trying to lead something just yet, and hopefully this experience will help me to acquire that spark.
3. What session/location?
CLTC 4, Bethany WV baby!
4. If you had to make up new words for the acronym CLTC so that it represented what CLTC means to you, what would you make it?
CLTC - Creating Leaders among Teens across the Country (sorry, is that cheating?). I've had quite a few friends in my region who have attended CLTC, and they have spoke both of how they have truly become leaders thanks to this experience and how they have met teens from all across America who share their passion, devotion, and dedication to BBYO, and I think that these two sentiments are perfectly embodied in this acronym.

I’m a BBG

Shalom from Wisconsin!
While it might be bittersweet, CLTC 1, 2011 is coming to an end.
Over the past ten days teens have stepped out of their comfort zones and have proved to me that BBYO will be in good hands for years to come. Tears have been shed, friendships have been made, and creative programs have been planned.
It’s incredible to witness teens with different goals, different values, and different desires coming together to form a tight-knit community in less than two weeks. It might be sad for everyone to depart to his or her hometown, but I am eager to see how each teen will impact his or her home community and region.
I truly believe that each of the 86 teens will go home and create something bigger and brighter for the future of BBYO.
And with that I remain,
Alyssa Baron, BBG Coordinator, & forever and always a B’nai B’rith Girl.
