Director's Note

Shalom and welcome to the first edition of our revamped monthly eNews for the Toronto, Thornhill and Vaughan communities. It is our hope that teens, parents, alumni and friends will enjoy this monthly snapshot of BBYO's events and initiatives.

As many of our teens return from summer experiences - including BBYO Passport trips in Israel, Europe and Central America as well as North American leadership programs like CLTC, ILTC, Kallah and Impact - our first cohort of campers is completing the new BBYO CIT/MIT Leadership Program at the Jack & Pat Kay Centre Camp in Toronto and Vaughan.

Even with such a busy summer, our teen leaders have been working hard to build a fantastic calendar of chapter and regional programs for the new year. Teens will have access to a wide range of new leadership development and Judaic enrichment experiences, Israel engagement programs, volunteer opportunities, athletics and more. Make sure to check out the Upcoming Events section below for more information and program registration.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to be in touch with me at 416.398.2004 ext. 1 or

New Teen Leadership at the Helm

With chapter and regional elections held in May, teen leaders are busy strategizing and planning for the year ahead.

The 2013/2014 AZA Regional Board is made up of Ben (Godol), Corey (S'gan), Adam (Moreh) and Dylan (Mazkir). The 2013/2014 BBG Regional Board includes Amanda (N'siah), Jessica (S'ganit), Marlee (Morah), Meira (Mazkirah) and Cassandra (Shlicha). Together, the AZA and BBG regional boards will provide leadership and support to 30 teen leaders representing six chapters and more than 700 teens involved in BBYO programs across Toronto, Thornhill and Vaughan.

Additionally, 8 chairpeople had been chosen to oversee key initiatives, as follows: Josh (AZAA Sports), Lior (BBGG Sports), Simara (BBYO Connect), Rachel (Globalization), Julieta (IC Spirit), Ryan (Seniors), Hailey (Speak Up for Israel) and Ally (Summer Programs).
