From the Director:

I am so excited to welcome you to our first local edition of the BBYO eNews. Each month I look forward to sharing highlights of recent programs, providing details of upcoming events, and featuring opportunities for further involvement in BBYO and the community at large.

RLTCHaving recently returned from Regional Leadership Training Conference (RLTC), I must congratulate the weekend's coordinators, our Regional N'siah and Godol (Presidents) Alissa and Jesse along with their entire steering committee on an excellent weekend. RLTC provided teens with a chance to meet new people from across the city, develop leadership skills, experience a meaningful teen-led Shabbat and have a blast.

With RLTC behind us, the Regional Board is hard at work on our next few programs:

  • Up All Night for Israel (Sat. Nov. 20) - Stay up all night immersed in Israeli culture - song, dance, art and advocacy - in support of Save a Child's Heart, an Israeli-based international humanitarian project that aims to improve the quality of pediatric cardiac care. Register Now!
  • MIT/AIT/Laserquest Lock-In (Sat. Dec. 11) - Everyone from our newest members to our most beloved seniors will have a blast as we explore the rich history and traditions of BBYO and then let loose with all-night Laser Tag! Registration opens soon!

RLTCPlus, chapters continue to meet every Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm, in Toronto at the Prosserman JCC (Room 1-23) and in Vaughan at Dufferin Clark Community Centre (Rooms 5/6).

If you have any questions about anything in this e-news or would just like to chat, please be in touch! I can be most easily reached at 416.398.2004 ext 222 or kgoodman@bbyo.ca.

Be a Part of the Largest International Convention in BBYO's 85-year History

International ConventionBBYO's International Convention (IC) is an incredibly inspiring experience. No where else can an Aleph or BBG come face-to-face with the international order. This is more than a leadership experience. Big celebrations, fun programs, and a huge Shabbat will give you the chance to make lifelong friends and feel apart of the BBYO global community unlike anywhere else.

Registration is now open and is already 50% full. Don't miss your chance to join 800 Jewish teens from around the world in Los Angeles, February 17-21, 2011. For more information or to register, follow the link above or contact our Regional Office.

International Convention scholarships are available through our Regional Office and are based on a combination of need and merit.

BBYO's March of the Living: An Experience of History and Destiny

March of the LivingJoin thousands of Jewish teens from around the world on a two-week, life altering journey that marks the tragedy of the Holocaust in Poland followed by a celebration of the establishment of the State of Israel in the Jewish Homeland.

The centerpiece of the experience is a life-affirming march from Auschwitz to Birkenau hand-in-hand with fellow teens. In Israel, we celebrate the future of the Jewish people on the streets of Jerusalem in honour of Israel's Independence Day.

The March of the Living is an emotional and deeply powerful experience. Join BBYO on the journey: April 27 - May 11, 2011.

Not able to take off from school? BBYO also offers a 4-week Poland and Israel program over the summer from June 28 - July 26, 2011.

March of the Living scholarships are available through our Regional Office and are based on a combination of need and merit.
