On Dec. 18, South Jersey Region BBYO had the opportunity to attend the Philadelphia 76ers game for their Jewish Heritage Night. This event was easily a huge hit for SJR. With 100 participants in attendance, watching this game was a great night full of friends and fun for everyone.
We even had the rare opportunity of seeing the Sixers seventh win of the season. They won against the Brooklyn Nets. The game was very close, making it an exciting game for all to watch.
After the game, we talked to a couple of members of SJR to see how they felt about this exciting event.
Junior Jake Stofman said, “The game was a great way for new and younger members to get involved. Everyone who came had a great time and enjoyed watching the Sixers win their seventh game of the season.”
Not only did SJR get to see a Sixers win, but we also had the once-in-a-lifetime chance to go onto the 76ers court after the conclusion of the game.
The 76ers staff provided us with basketballs to shoot some hoops, and it also happened to be a cool place to snap some nice photos. Whether you were playing basketball or hanging with friends, being on the court will be an experience we all cherish and remember forever.
Senior Melissa Abrams said, “It was really cool to be a part of the 76ers Jewish Heritage Night. Watching the game with all of my friends was super fun and then going on the court after the game was exciting. We got to take pictures, shoot some hoops, and hang out. It was something very different for SJR, but I really enjoyed it.”
This exciting event was just one more event that proves how unique our organization is. It proves the fact that you can’t experience things like this anywhere else and that the friends you make here are different from the friends you will make anywhere else. South Jersey Region never fails to prove these things to be true.
It is completely safe to say that this event was a home run for SJR. Not only was it a great time, but it was also an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance. Being at the game and then going on the court afterwards is an experience so unique and would never be the same with anyone other than our brother Alephs and sister BBGs. It was a great win for the Sixers and an overall great experience for all of SJR.
