BBYO is more than a youth group. We are a movement striving to create and educate strong Jewish leaders. This year, South Jersey Region has been stronger than ever. Currently at our race to 600 members, we are all working hard to reach our goals.
Our regional Morim (Vice Presidents of Membership), have held two “Ask Weeks” this year. Ask Week is a weeklong registration push. Each day, Sunday-Friday, consists of a different “hashtag,” where members post a picture relating to the corresponding “hashtag.” Each Ask Week is typically leading up to a major convention or regional event. Our most recent Ask Week led up to Tournies, SJR’s HUGE spirit convention. For the Monday of that Ask Week, we used #memorymonday for our “hashtag.” Members posted pictures of their favorite Tournies memories. By the end of this Ask Week, SJR gained 31 new members. This was a huge accomplishment for SJR. We also had nearly 400 members in attendance at Tournies, which made this year our largest Tournies yet. The ultimate goal of every Ask Week is to show potential members how amazing BBYO is and get them excited to begin their BBYO journey and to get them to register! This past Ask Week accomplished exactly that and we could not be more proud.
South Jersey Region is currently 567 members strong and we are well on our way to reaching our end-of-year goal of 600 members. Thirty-three members is so close we can taste it and we know that we can accomplish this with hard work over the next couple of months.
Regional Moreh Brett Eisenberg said, “It’s a goal I’ve been focusing on ever since I was elected. I would be honored to be part of the team to be able to reach a goal like that.”
Brett has been working hard alongside Regional Aym Ha- Chaverot Zoe Arking to reach this goal, and they could not be more determined to succeed.
Our Regional Morim could not accomplish this prestigious goal alone. They have been working constantly with SJRs chapter Morim. These elected chapter leaders have been working toward their chapter goals all year in regards to membership, which assists in reaching our regional goal of 600 members.
Otzma AZA Moreh Jed Friedman said, “Over the past few months, Otzma has been engaging in heavy recruitment efforts and has seen the benefits. We are at an all-time high for membership in the chapter.”
Dafna BBG Aym Ha- Chaverot Chelsea Stern said, “Dafna BBG has thrived throughout the past few months in welcoming more and more Jewish teens in a community fit for them. We are so excited, as a chapter and a region, to see the potential our newest leaders hold as we continue our race to 600.”
We are so proud of everything our chapters have been accomplishing and are thrilled to see them racing to 600 with us. We would not be able to succeed in reaching our goals without them and we cannot wait to see what else they will accomplish over these next couple of months.
South Jersey Region BBYO is well on our way to 600 members, and we plan to be there by the time the year comes to a close.
