It was "welcome home" and "nice to meet you" to our guests of BBYO International last week as Mika Stein '13, the current International President, returned to campus to introduce Yavneh to Anita Bormaster, Director of BBYO Connect and Teen Leadership, Ian Kandel, Director of AZA, BBG, the Movement, and Natalie Spring, Director of BBYO's Campaigns and Initiatives.
"We were in Dallas meeting with organizations for possible partnership in the February, 2014 International Convention. We are excited to help Dallas own the experience as host city, and I was very proud to show the team around Yavneh," said Mika who since August, has traveled to Georgia, New York, Virginia, and South Carolina, working with these BBYO leaders in the regions and councils to improve their programming and inspire their leadership.
Less than a week after registration opened for the February convention, almost 2000 teens from around the world have already registered to participate.
"Last year's IC attendance and magnitude proved to be one of the largest gatherings of the Global Jewish community in the world," said Gary Levine '14, BBYO's current International Vice-President of Judaic Programming."With numbers up by thirty percent we anticipate IC 2014 in Dallas to be bigger and better than ever."
