BBYO Teens Shine at Convention
Read this story in the Cleveland Jewish News.
We had the extreme pleasure of attending the BBYO Ohio Northern Region’s convention banquet April 5. Not only did we experience 153 high school youth exuberating “ruach” (spirit) filled with Judaic significance, but we were privileged to watch as these young men and women received individual and chapter awards for their 2013-14 year of programming, philanthropy, Jewish experiences, membership and creativity.
The warmth, love, and respect that these young people showed for each other and the enthusiasm and pride shared was heartwarming. It was evident that those in the leadership roles as well as all convention delegates conducted themselves in such a way in which we understood that these Jewish young people will continue to be the leaders of Jewish communities wherever their adulthood takes them.
BBYO provides such well-rounded programming and welcomes members from eighth to the 12th grades. As parents who watched two teenagers develop many life skills through BBYO and now having the opportunity to see two grandchildren follow in their footsteps, we are grateful to the wonderful staff and the organization, itself.
BBYO youth – you really impressed us that night.
