The holidays bring people of all ages together, as evidenced by members of the Greater Greenwich BBYO Chapter (known as Judah BBYO), who cooked 60 meals at Temple Sholom for elderly residents living in McKinney Terrace on Nov. 26.
Along with the meals, the teens sent Thanksgiving cards and gift bags.
Judah BBYO is the greater Greenwich chapter of BBYO, an international Jewish youth group.
The Judah Chapter was founded in the fall of 2012. Judah BBYO is comprised of eighth to 12th grade Jewish teens from the greater Greenwich community (including Stamford and Rye Brook, N.Y.), and all Jewish teens, regardless of synagogue affiliation, are welcome to join.
Meetings are held every other Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Temple Sholom, and once a month the group takes part in a local program on a Saturday night or Sunday.
Members are also encouraged to participate in the monthly regional programs, such as conventions and service learning trips. BBYO also partners with organizations such as AIPAC and JTeen. Leadership opportunities are plentiful.
