The JPRO Network will honor JDC’s Alan Gill and a dedicated group of young professionals at its annual Awards Ceremony and Program, as part of the General Assembly of The Jewish Federation of North America.

The Awards ceremony will be held tomorrow, November 10th, followed by a panel discussion, “Surviving and Thriving: Executive Lessons for the 21st Century,” led by Debra Weinberg, with Darrel Friedman, Scott Kaufman, Hannah Rosenthal and Mark Terrill.

Alan Gill, CEO of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, will be honored with the Ben Mandelkorn Distinguished Service Award, which annually recognizes individuals who have made significant and enduring contributions in the field of Jewish community organization practice.

The JPRO Network Young Professional Award will be presented to Ira Dounn, Director of Jewish Enrichment for BBYO; and Sheila Katz, Vice President for Social Entrepreneurship at Hillel International. It is the premier recognition of extraordinary young talent, nominated by their colleagues, who are dedicated to professional careers in the Jewish community. This year’s award provides a 10-day educational seminar to Europe and Israel in 2015, with a focus on Jewish identity and peoplehood, exploring innovative programming and redefining relationships.

Amanda Glincher, Director of Marketing at the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley; Chris Strom, Director, New Media and Social Networking, at JCC Association in New York; Elisabeth Kostin, Planning Manager in the Caring Commission at UJA-Federation of New York; and Rachel Siegel, Project Coordinator of the Jewish Women’s Foundation of New York, will receive the Bernard Rodkin Professional Development Israel Fellowship that provides an opportunity to increase one’s knowledge and understanding of Israeli society and its social welfare system, and to enhance their community organization skills and career development. The award provides a 10-day educational seminar to Europe and Israel in January 2015.

Aaron Gorodzinsky, Director of Outreach and Community Relations at the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley, is awarded the Norman Edell Scholarship, which sends one young professional to experience the General Assembly of the Jewish Federation of North America for the first time, with preference given to those from a Small or Intermediate Federation.
