On Sunday evening, Jan. 20, 175 BBYO Lonestar members, along with eighth-graders, gathered at Pete’s Piano Bar for the third annual Mr. AZA and Miss BBG Pageant and Dance. This event was highlighted by 10 different teens representing each of the Houston-area chapters in friendly pageant competitions. Those in attendance were able to see some of the best-hidden talents, as well as listen to the dueling piano players throughout the evening. It was a great way to kick off the spring term with the newly elected 29th Lonestar regional board and allow all members to see each other after winter break.
“The GHC [Greater Houston Council] kickoff was a fun way to begin a promising spring term. The night featured a talent show filled with skilled performances from some of the most impressive teens in the Region,” Zach Birenbaum, of Shapiro AZA, recounted.
Miss BBG went to Lindsey Bronston from Wise BBG, and Mr. AZA went to Joseph Blanga from Reisbord AZA. Both winners were rewarded with a cash prize to donate to their chapters fundraising. The rest of the night was spent catching up with friends, dancing, eating and having a great time.
“The GHC spring kickoff was a great way to start the new term, because we were able to catch up with friends from across the region, along with being able to cheer on our chapter representatives,” said Kayla Roseman, BBG #63.
The event was a huge success and a great way to begin the spring term in BBYO.
