Nelson Migdal to Receive Kol Echad Service Award from BBYO

Nelson Migdal, shareholder in the Washington D.C. office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, has been selected to receive the 2013 Kol Echad Service Award. Presented by the BBYO, the award honors extraordinary service and commitment to the community and the BBYO organization. Migdal will receive the award at BBYO’s annual winter gala event.
According to its website, BBYO is the leading pluralistic teen movement aspiring to involve more Jewish teens in more meaningful Jewish experiences. For 90 years, BBYO has provided identity enrichment and leadership development experiences to Jewish teens.
“I am honored to receive this significant award from BBYO,” said Migdal. “The firm emphasizes the importance of pro bono work and service is something that has always been a priority in my life.” Until recently, Nelson chaired the BBYO D.C. Council’s Friends and Alumni Network (FAN) and is now co-chair of FAN International.
Migdal, who is co-chair of the firm’s Hospitality Group, focuses his practice on hotel acquisitions, operations, development and finance, large mixed-use projects, hotel management agreements, licensing agreements, commercial real estate acquisition and sale, commercial leasing, and the representation of property owners on telecommunications matters. Beyond his legal practice, Migdal gives his time to the community through his work as a faculty member at American University Washington College of Law.
