New BBYO Teen Group Forming at Temple Sinai
This story was published in the Las Vegas Israelite
My name is Barney Kramer. I am a proud Temple Sinai member and BBYO advisor. All my friends were from BBYO, I went to dances, conventions, ADL meetings, and so much more. The summer after my trip to Israel I went to BBYO Leadership (BBYO is a youth led organization). There I met my wife of 27 years, Debra, a BBG (B’nai B’rith Girls) regional board member. This is my second time returning to BBYO as an advisor. I have advised 3 chapters and staffed regional events. My daughter Rachel is now a Gorbena BBG going to convention as my wife and I had done as teenagers. We could not be prouder of her. Seeing this, I got involved again and Temple Sinai has generously offered us a place in their family. The Girl’s chapter has already started meeting and in a few weeks will be an official BBG chapter of BBYO. Now it’s time to get the boy’s chapter going! I have been asked and have accepted the advisor roll for the boys AZA BBYO chapter. This organization changed my life and believe me it will change your child’s life too. It will take them through those tough late teen age years with Great Jewish Friends, Fabulous Programs, a love for Israel, and Fantasic Times they will remember forever. Our parent and child information meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 21st at 6:30 pm in the Temple Sanctuary. Please bring your son or daughter in grades 8-12 to the meeting so they can become a part of this wonderful, youth lead organization! Meetings for both the Girl’s and Boy’s chapters will be held on Tuesday Nights at 6:30-8 pm at Temple Sinai. I hope to see you there!
