Quote: “The first night we were in Staten Island, we had a speaker come in who was directly affected by the storm. Hearing her talk about the experience really helped us understand what people had to go through. We worked on a project to clear out an overgrown lot, spread mulch and plant flowers in flood-proof boxes that can float. It was very satisfying to see the results of our work and know that people appreciated what we did.”
