BBYO Launches Site to Reconnect Hundreds of Thousands of Alumni
August 6, 2004
BBYO, Inc. has just launched its first ever alumni website at www.bbyoalumni.org, providing the potential for BBYO's community of over 250,000 alumni to connect with one another. The site launch initiates a year-long celebration of AZA's (Aleph Zadik Aleph) 80th and BBG's (B'nai B'rith Girls) 60th anniversaries.
"As I travel across the country, I am amazed by the number of former AZA and BBG members that I meet and am touched by their enduring passion for this organization," said BBYO executive director Matthew Grossman. "We are thrilled to provide them with a venue to not only reestablish old connections, but to also build new connections with tomorrow's Jewish leades."
Through a powerful search engine, alumni can explore the continually expanding database by last name or region. As of today, upwards of 1,600 alumni have already registered online. BBYO's international office and its 33 regions are implementing outreach initiatives to encourage involvement among as many of its hundreds of thousands of alumni as possible.
In addition to the search function, the website will also include photographs of alumni from across the country, as well as an archive of memorabilia which will be updated regularly. The website will also provide information for local alumni events being hosted around the country.
BBYO alumni provide the foundation on which this organization is able to grow," said Lynn Schusterman, chair of the BBYO, Inc. board of directors. "Empowering BBYO alumni to find old friends, share memories, make new connections and stay in touch is an important piece of building a stronger Jewish community around the globe."
