Good Morning America selected two Nassau-Suffolk Region BBYO teens to represent the Jewish voice on an inter-faith panel discussing religious tolerance in America. The clip aired on Thursday, September 23, 2010.

Zach Hecht of Dix Hills and Sarah Sloan of Melville joined with eight other teens from various religious backgrounds to share their opinions on America’s response to the proposed Islamic Center near Ground Zero and the recent Quran burning threats, in addition to their perceptions on the religion of Islam and the right for Muslims to practice their faith in America. The session was moderated by ABC’s Dan Harris.

“I think it is our obligation to promote inter-faith dialogue so a lot of the misconceptions are cleared up,” said Zach Hecht during the interview.
