Middle School Program: BBYO Connect

BBYO Connect is the BBYO experience made just for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students offering social and meaningful experiences that will serve as a gateway to continued involvement in Jewish life.

BBYO Connect offers teens a variety of experiences to help bridge the gap between immediate pre- and post- Bar/Bat Mitzvah and High School programs. The purpose is to provide middle school students with a positive experience in which they can get together with camp, school, and synagogue friends, as well as meet new friends. BBYO Connect allows middle school students to begin experiencing the privileges and obligations of being a member of the Jewish and general communities. Focused on service, social, and Judaic programming, BBYO Connect builds a network of teens across North America at a critical age when middle school students begin to strengthen their identities, form social circles and prepare for high school and beyond.

Upcoming Events for 7th Grade Jewish Teens

-November 19th: Mockingjay Pre-Screening and Can-Tribute (More details to come!)
-December 7th: Limo Scavenger Hunt
-March 15th: Good Deeds Day service learning projects

We're thrilled to premiere our Middle School Mitzvah Fellowship program for 7th grade teens. We've partnered with Beth El Congregation, Har Shalom Congregation, B'nai Israel Congregation, and Beth Ami Congregation to create a program that blends social networking and service. 7th grade Jewish students will connect with other teens working working on similar service projects for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

In the Middle School Mitzvah Fellowship teens build a unique peer network- uniting with fellow 7th grade Jewish teens that are looking to make a greater impact on the issues they care about most. It’s time we think outside the Tzedekah box and challenge the next generation of Jewish leaders and change agents to put their words into action and fulfill the mitzvot of Tzedakah, Avodah, and Tikkun Olam—charity, service, and repairing the world.  Teens will explore their interests and passions, gain leadership skills, and build community. Monthly meetings blend social networking and service through experiential learning, guest speakers, and socializing. Each network of teens will develop a project that will culminate on Good Deeds Day. We look forward to changing the world, together. Each teen will select one of the four network options based upon their interests, and will meet with other students that have selected the same network during each session. Which network speaks to your passions?
-Health and Wellness
-Poverty, Hunger and Homelessness
-Bullying and Inclusion
-The Environment and Animal Welfare
