Eastern Region (ER) is one of 43 geographic regions that make up BBYO in North America. ER consists of Central and Southeast Virginia (Richmond, Tidewater and Williamsburg) and all of North Carolina. ER is led by a professional staff, volunteer advisors and elected teen leaders. Teens participate in local, council and regional youth-led programs, activities and athletics throughout the year. Currently, more than 700 high school teens participate in ERBBYO.
With more than 18,000 members and 80 years of experience, BBYO is known as the largest and most effective provider of identity-building and leadership development programs for Jewish teens. Headquartered in Washington, DC, BBYO encompasses over 40 regions across North America, as well as Central and South Americas, Europe, Israel, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand and comprises more than 130 employees and over 800 volunteer advisors. Among BBYO’s 250,000 living alumni are many of the most prominent figures in Jewish communal life, as well as people of note in the business, political, academic and cultural worlds.
