Conventions and Scholarships
Eastern Region is known for the many weekend conventions held during the programming year. Each Convention has a specific purpose and audience. Every convention has youth coordinators that work with staff to plan and implement the weekend.
Scholarships are available for all Eastern Region Conventions. The scholarship form needs to be completed and received in the Regional office by each specific conventions scholarship deadline. Scholarships are need based and the application must be completed in full. Click here for the scholarship form.

Who Can Attend: Council Boards and all chapter officers
Information on Convention: ER's Regional Executives Convention (also known as "Regional XX") is a region-wide convention coordinated by the four Council Godolim & N’siot. This convention kicks off the year -- an amazing weekend focused on preparing the Council and Chapter elected teen leaders with inspiration and motivation to lead in the coming year. MIT - AIT
October 18-20, 2013 Greensboro, Camp Weaver
Registration opens on Sunday, September 1st and closes Tuesday, October 8th
Who Can Attend: New Members of Eastern Region, Council Godolim/N'siot, Council Morim/MIT Moms, and 8 selected senior trainers.
Information on Convention: MIT-AIT is a convention designed specifically for new member to BBYO. Programming during the weekend will revolve around the basics of BBYO: programming, history and how chapters function. The teens will experience their first BBYO Shabbat. A dance will be held Saturday night. The participants will have the opportunity to meet other Jewish teens from North Carolina, learn a little bit about BBYO and have a great time! Who Can Attend: Juniors and Seniors of Eastern Region BBYO
Information on Convention: Every other year, Eastern Region holds a convention specifically designed for Juniors and Seniors. It is our pleasure to welcome back Scott Fried, for his 8th consecutive Junior-Senior as our guest speaker. Scotts programming will focus on love and respect growing up in the age of HIV. The atmosphere that Scott creates and the education he provides during the weekend will be one that our BBYO members will cherish forever.

Who Can Attend: All Eastern Region Members
Information on Convention: Regional Convention (known as “Regionals”) is the largest convention of the year, drawing over 200 members. Simply put, the convention consists of regional activities and programs that maximize fun and draw Virginia Council and North Carolina Council together. Coordinated by our four Council S'ganiot, Regionals is the climax of the regional programming year -- a place where everyone is sure to meet new people, participate in awesome programs, hear great speakers and have a wonderful time.
Council Contest Conventions
Winter Cultural: January 31-Februar 2, 2014 Charlotte, NC - for members of NC Council only
Virginia Council Runoff's: January 31-February 2, 2014 Norfolk Virginia - for members of VA Council only
Registration for both conventions opens January 3, 2013 and closes January 22, 2013.
Information on Convention: The quintessential chapter bonding experience and largest Council events of the year for both NCC and VAC, Winter Cultural Convention (NCC) and Runoffs Convention (VAC) are spirit conventions -- a giant competition in which each chapter bonds in competing against the others for the coveted Council Spirit Cup (NCC) or Council Spirit Gavel (VAC), awarded to the chapter deemed winners by the judges. The competitions include Chapter Songs, t-shirt, banner, Basketball, Videos, and more. Both Winter Cultural and Runoff's are home housed. Who Can Attend: All members -- every Aleph of The Grand Order of AZA & every BBG of the B’nai B’rith Girls. Information on Convention: BBYO's International Convention (IC) is an incredibly inspiring experience. No where else can an Aleph or BBG come face-to-face with the international order. Big celebrations, fun programs, and a huge Shabbat will give teens the chance to make lifelong friends and be a part of the BBYO global community. Participants have the opportunity to meet new people from chapters around the globe, reunite with friends from summer programs, participate in programs and elect next International leaders of AZA and BBG that will steer the course of our movement’s future.

Who Can Attend: All Members of Virginia Counci
Information on Convention: In the concluding convention of the year, Virginia Council comes together for one final time not only to have fun, but also to say goodbye to the Senior Class as they give life, elect new Council boards for the following year, and hear the State of the Council address from the Godol and N’siah of VAC. Fun and meaningful programs are also planned by the coordinators who are chosen by application. For those looking to end the year strongly, reflect upon the wisdom and experiences of seniors as they graduate, and simply have a blast with brother Alephs and sister BBGs one final time, this is it.
