Message from the Regional Presidents & Regional Director
A Message from the President
May is a very big month for BBYO! On May 3rd, we celebrated AZA Founders Day! 89 years ago, a movement was formed that developed into a "second home" for thousands and thousands of male Jewish teens across the world.
At the recent new member convention, AIT/MIT, we had nearly 150 people in attendance! This is the largest turnout for this convention in KIO's recent history. At this convention of mostly 8th and 9th graders, teens learned what BBYO is all about. They learned about the history, the traditions, and so much more! The coordinators, Phoebe Rose and Eli Profetta, did such an amazing job coordinating this convention. Everyone had a great time and I look forward to seeing everyone of those new members at future conventions and programs.
A Message from the Regional Director
I’ve talked a lot recently about the record-breaking year KIO has had in new member recruitment. We have a lot to be proud of! After all, we beat all expectations and exceeded our goal by 150%. And while every one of these new members are the life blood of our organization, helping to ensure a strong and vibrant future for KIO, I don’t want to forget about those who came before them… the ones who kept the region going for the past four years… those seniors whose passion and dedication got us to where we are today. I know I speak for our entire region when I say how much we appreciate all they have done. We will miss them and wish them great success as they start an exciting new chapter in their lives.
Whether you’re saying goodbye for good, or just for the summer, I hope your BBYO experience has been as memorable as it has been meaningful. It’s fun to think back on all the great events, weekly meetings, and regional conventions we’ve shared, the friends we’ve made and the strong bonds we’ve developed with everyone around the region. So welcome to our new members, and warm wishes to our graduates for a lifetime of success and happiness. Have a great summer and no matter where you go and what you do, I hope BBYO will always be a part of you. We will miss you. If you’d like to be in touch, don’t hesitate to email me here.
