First Full Day at CLTC 1

The first full day at Camp Beber flew by. After an exciting night unpacking and bonding with roommates, the morning crept up on everyone. The day began with CLTC 1's first communal shacharit, or morning prayer. Participants were introduced to the prayer experience. Then, chapters met to discuss board positions and election procedures. It was fun for each mock chapter to start brainstorming chapter names. Each of CLTC 1's rotation groups explored three different programs. In public speaking, Jordyn Matez from Gold Coast Region presented her speech on why Peter Pan was her favorite movie, while Robin Du from Cotton States Region explained the best vacation he had been on. In the Jewish leadership program, CLTC 1 participants were encouraged to think out of their comfort zones and identified which Jewish leaders matched their personalities. Moreover, the "Why are you here?" discussion session set the tone of CLTC and provided participants with everything they need to know about the following days. Grilled cheese and tomato soup for lunch was a hit. After the meal, everyone enjoyed free time with new friends, playing basketball, talking in dorms, eating snacks, and jamming to song sessions. After dinner, each mock chapter strengthened their ability to work as a team through a skill building activity involving a maze. The night closed with boys and girls splitting up to learn about the BBG and AZA history and principles. Everyone is excited for another day at CLTC 1 tomorrow!
