I Want To Go On March Of The Living

The membership committee of Gesher AZA kicked off Wednesday morning by leading the entire CLTC body in a lesson about membership and recruitment. Boaz Kelner and Sam Hirsberg helped their committee facilitate mock-phone calls to prospective members and suggested various ways to bring more teens to BBYO meetings. Next, the participants rotated between different sessions, including a program about the exploration of Jewish identity, and another relating personality and leadership types to different colors. In the afternoon, chapters presented their programs and were given the opportunity to lead their peers. Achim AZA led a program centered around significant Jewish athletes in the world today. Zachary Gaines challenged participants in his discussion group to explore various role models and the importance of being proud of one's Judaism, even when in the spotlight. Following, Gesher AZA educated us about anti-semitism. Joel Pozin and Sam Canales took charge and helped their chapter facilitate an impactful program. The last chapter program of the day was led by Shemesh BBG. The girls had a mini color war and used modern day board games, reinvented to incorporate Israel, to bring the importance of Jewish heritage to CLTC. Jordan Wecksler and Rose Levine were stand outs and led Shemesh to success. Lastly, the night closed with a program about the March of the Living. It was truly a session that resonated with many of the teens, who heard stories about others who have been on the trip, watched a video, and reflected on the tragedies of the Holocaust. We are looking forward to another great day at Camp Beber tomorrow.
