The Shabbat experience at Camp Beber is a special one. Regardless of their customs at home, participants have the ability to relax with each other and celebrate the culmination of a great week. "This has been one of the best Shabbats I have ever experienced with BBYO." Rose Levine of Cotton States Region explains. "The people are incredible." Shabbat began with a Friday night service led by Shemesh BBG. The girls taught us about the significance of moments, and welcomed Shabbat as a community ."I loved Shabbat services at CLTC. Even though I have only known these group of people for a short time, it feels like I have known them for a life time." Jordan Wecksler of Atlanta Council shares. On Saturday, everyone was excited about the late wake up. Morning services were led by the members of Achim AZA, themed around the power of those who change the world. "My favorite part of this weekend was leading the service with my chapter," Nathan Gendler of Mid America Region: Omaha Council shares. After lunch, CLTC 1 had a shoe golf tournament, in which players kicked one shoe off in attempt to reach the target, followed by pool time. Later that evening, participants explored how to stand up for each other by ending name calling, and then engaged in a discussion about what Israel means to them. "This Shabbat program enabled me to have a new appreciation for Israel." Sam Canales of Cotton States Region says. Additionally, song session added much to the Shabbat experience. Everyone loved dancing and singing together. To close off the night, the Havdallah service welcomed a new week here at camp. CLTC 1 is excited to share our last week together, learning and growing as a community strengthened by our Shabbat experiences.
