Shalom from the Coordinators!

As of now, CLTC is in full swing, and we are proud to report that (almost) all the participants have arrived, and we are keeping them happily busy. Yesterday was hectic. Everyone started arriving at the airport early in the morning, but due to a crazy combination of inclement weather, mechanical problems, missing pilots, and the TSA, we were taking vans to the airport as late as 11 pm!
A few highlights from yesterday were an awesome song session with our song leader Mikey Pauker, a cool activity with Borromean rings (look it up, they’re really cool), and a great friendship circle before letting an exhausted group of kids go to bed. Our personal favorite part of the day was watching everyone volunteer to carry each others bags up the stairs. Today the participants planned an activity where throughout the day they give new friends colorful little slips of construction paper to put inside their nametags, creating a “rainbow of friendship.”
In the next couple of days, your teens will be electing their mock chapter boards, performing team-building exercises to further bond them as a group, and will continue to break the ice with other participants from all over the united states. Phones aren’t allowed during the day, but if you want to contact someone here, give them a call after 11 ET or send some old fashioned snail mail!
We are both incredibly excited to be here! The participants have already started to wow us with their genuine kindness and eagerness to make new friends and learn valuable lessons.
We can’t wait for the next 11 days.
Emily Gorby and Gavri Schreiber.
