Rikkudim at Kallah

Rebecca Lewis and Maeghan Jakubovitz here!
"Now, gotta cut loose, footloose kick off the Sunday shoes."
Almost every night before we say the "Shema" prayer and go to bed we have rikkudim (Israeli dancing) and snack. It's a chance for all of us to cut loose and have fun!
Our song leaders Eric Hunker and Happie Hoffman lead us in song, and madrichot (counselors) Nitzan, from Israel, and Daniella, from Argentina, lead us in dance. It gives us the opportunity to wind down after a long day of classes.
The song selection includes a variety of traditional Israeli dance music along with some popular American line dances, such as "Footloose" and "Cottton Eyed Joe". Everybody gets into it and you can feel the floor vibrating from the 170+ teens and staff dancing away.
Those who need a break can go outside and listen to the music while lying down and stargazing because there is nothing more beautiful and calming than the Perlman night sky.
Rikkudim is our favorite part of the day because it's our chance to unwind and have fun with our new friends.
