Kallah
Kallah offers a deep Judaic experience in which participants are given the opportunity to explore their own Jewish identity and engage with spirituality, culture and religion. The Kallah experience strives to provide well-rounded exposure to some of the core principles, values and tenets of Jewish life. Kallah provides teens with a forum to learn from and work with one another to delve deeper into the aspects of Judaism that they find meaningful. The Kallah community flourishes through the diversity of its participants and their experiences, traditions and knowledge. Teens enjoy the transformative Kallah experience on the campus of Perlman Camp in Lake Como, Pennsylvania.
Program Highlights
- Teens will see that they are capable of creating a meaningful Jewish learning experience for their peers; these are some of the most powerful moment for participants.
- Participants choose many of their classes and find connection in ways that are meaningful to them.
- From the first song to the last Havdallah candle, Shabbat is planned entirely by participants (with the guidance of educators, of course). Kallah is a very intense and focused program, and participants and staff work together to create a true separation from a week of hard work to Shabbat, where they have the chance to rest.
