About Us
About Manhattan Region
Founded in Fall 2014, Manhattan Region is BBYO’s newest region and serves all Jewish teens of Manhattan and the Bronx in New York City. A full array of activities – social, community service, and leadership development – are part of BBYO in Manhattan, all with teens in charge!
Manhattan Region is comprised of chapters in lower Manhattan, the Upper West Side, the Upper East Side, and Riverdale -- representing over 300 Jewish teens in New York City. By becoming a member of Manhattan Region, teens experience local programming in their neighborhoods, regional programming like dances, community service days, sports events, and weekend-long conventions, and international programming at large scale conferences and BBYO Summer Experiences.
Our chapters hold events every other week at locations around Manhattan and Riverdale. Events are planned by teens, for teens, and programming ranges from activities like laser tag, chooclate Seders, and making s’mores over a bonfire, to more serious programming around current events, social justice, and leadership development. A parent, advisor, or regional staff member is always on hand to ensure safety and health.
Fun Fact: Manhattan Region had the highest percent growth rate of all BBYO regions during the 2017-18 school year.
