Congratulations to the Michigan Region staff team on all of their well-deserved awards. Three of our professionals in this region were recently recognized for their dedication and hard work as they have each truly made a significant impact on our organization. Jennifer Frank, Director of Philanthropy, was awarded the Behind the Scenes award. This award recognizes our silent heroes, those who quietly do the important work that very few people see but is so essential to our goals at BBYO. The Behind-the-Scenes award recognizes a staff member who is exceptional at leading from the back or doing any backend work that rarely gets a spotlight. Sari Kripke, Social Worker, was awarded the Summer Spotlight award. The Summer Spotlight Award recognizes a professional that does an exceptional job at or in support of a BBYO Summer Leadership Program or Israel program. This award recognizes extra effort either during the program or in the months leading up to the program that is not considered within the basic scope of year-round job duties. Shayna Pearlman, Associate Regional Director, was awarded the Innovation award. This award celebrates our dreamers, outside-the-box thinkers, and those who are not afraid to take a risk. This recognizes someone who really moved the needle in a creative way, changing the way we do something in BBYO for the better. Join us in congratulating Jen, Sari, and Shayna! #awards #staffcelebration #aboveandbeyond #behindthescenes #summerspotlight #innovation

Over the past few days, weeks, and months, college campuses across the United States have unfortunately become unsafe environments for Jewish students, many of whom are BBYO alumni, due to ongoing instances of antisemitism and anti-Israel demonstrations. BBYO proudly stands in support of all Jewish students on college campuses — anywhere and everywhere. Together, let's continue to combat hatred, and promote tolerance and dialogue.

We're back with another "SNAP OF THE WEEK", highlighting Gillian Lindenberg, our Senior Director of Philanthropic Engagement. In the words of a colleague, "I am so lucky to have a partner with Gillian on all things Community Engagement for Liberty & South Jersey. She does everything to the fullest, and every event we just hosted was smooth and branded amazing. She didn't hesitate to jump in when needed and got to know both communities during her visit." Thank you Gillian for all the hard work you do! #culture #leadership #thankyou #aboveandbeyond

Congratulations to Karen Alpert, Vice President of IT Strategy and Measurement on winning the Todd Kay Award for Demonstrating the Jewish Value of Chesed ("Giving of Loving-Kindness"). This award recognizes the legacy of Todd Kay, the Senior Regional Director of BBYO Ohio Northern Region from 2008 to 2015. He exemplified chesed by going above and beyond to help others through his tireless commitment to BBYO and his community. He inspired countless individuals to be their greatest selves and realize their potential as Jews and human beings. The recipient of this award exemplifies the characteristic of "giving of loving-kindness" to those surrounding them and demonstrates devotion to colleagues through building staff community, ensuring BBYO's overall mission is achieved, and helping to create a positive work environment through their daily actions. Congratulations, Karen! May chesed continue to guide your work every day, and may Todd's memory always be a blessing. #Award #Legacy #Leadership
