Dear BBYO Advisors,
As we finalize our programming for the fall of 2021, we are establishing policies to further mitigate the chances of COVID-19 entering or spreading at BBYO programs. I am writing to let you know of the following vaccination policy update before our programming season begins:
Beginning in August 2021, BBYO is requiring all advisors and staff based in the United States who interact with teens to be fully vaccinated (vax date plus two weeks). Currently, Moderna, Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, or Johnson & Johnson are the accepted vaccines.
Please upload a copy of your vaccination card in VolunteerMatters by following these steps:
- Log into your VolunteerMatters account
- If you’ve already set up your account, log in at this link
- If you haven’t set up your account yet, search your inbox for an invitation from VolunteerMatters on June 2 with instructions to set up your account.
- Upon login, you will be automatically prompted to upload your vaccination card. Follow the instructions.
- While you're there, we highly recommend you complete any other outstanding compliance requirements (“credentials”), which you must complete by December 31, 2021 in order to continue advising. If you are unable to access your VolunteerMatters account, please email [email protected].
You must upload your proof of vaccination prior to interacting with any teens. If you have questions or would like to request a medical exemption for the vaccine requirement, please email Amanda Cohen at [email protected]. Each exemption request will be reviewed by BBYO’s medical advisors.
For your reference, please click here for an email sent to BBYO families last week detailing a related policy where all teens attending overnights will be required to be vaccinated.
We are committed to public health and pikuach nefesh (the sanctity of life). Our ability to have healthy and safe programming improves with every individual who undergoes vaccination before entering our communal space. Thank you for your support in ensuring a safe and healthy community.
Sincerely,
Amanda Cohen
