Limmud Options × 2pm: Jake Cohen OR Kevin Levin Jake Cohen is a recipe developer and nice Jewish boy from New York. A former food staffer at Saveur, then food editor of Tasting Table and Time Out New York, and most recently the editorial and test kitchen director of social media juggernaut the Feedfeed. Join us as we sit down with Jake Cohen to talk about Jewish food, developing a brand, and writing a Jewish cookbook. Spanish speaking option! In this Spanish-language workshop featuring author, teacher, and scholar Kevin Levin, we will look at some sketches inspired by some well-known and some lesser-known fragments from Jewish scripture. ¡Únete a nosotros con Kevin! 2:45pm: Ori Sasson Ori is an Israeli Olympic judoka. He won a bronze medal in the +100kg category at the 2016 Summer Olympics. We'll connect with Ori to learn about his life on and off the Olympic mat. 3:15pm: Amy Kritzer Becker (@WhatJewWannaEat) Amy Kritzer Becker is the founder of the modern Jewish cooking blog What Jew Wanna Eat (https://whatjewwannaeat.com/) and author of the 2016 cookbook Sweet Noshings. She is also the owner of the cool Jewish gifts website ModernTribe. (https://moderntribe.com/). Find the ingredients list here: https://whatjewwannaeat.com/tahini-chocolate-chip-cookies/ 4pm: Sarah Hurwitz OR OurNarrative My Jewish Journey to the White House: Join us with Sarah Hurwitz, who served as a White House speechwriter from 2009 to 2017, first as a senior speechwriter for President Barack Obama and then as head speechwriter for First Lady Michelle Obama. Prior to serving in the Obama Administration, Sarah was chief speechwriter for Hillary Clinton on her 2008 presidential campaign. Rawan Odeh is a Palestinian American. She lived half her life in New York and the other half in Nablus. After university, she came to New Story Leadership: a leadership program that brings emerging young leaders from Palestine and Israel to Washington DC. Bar Galin is an Israeli who lived for most of his life outside of Jerusalem. Bar served as an infantry solider in Hebron and the areas of the West Bank. After the army, Bar worked with BINA: Movement for Social Justice and with the Movement Israel 2050 for Justice. Join OurNarrative for a thought-provoking performance that illustrates how two individuals with different narratives can share their stories while sitting to gather on the same stage in today's polarized atmosphere.
