At the beginning of the program, we will learn a little bit about Tu B'Shvat.  In honor of the holiday, we will create BBG gardens. BBG gardens will also lead into a discussion about how we want to grow and blossom in BBYO.  We will use this re-education program to teach chapters members about programming and about the folds. We will be dying the whip cream ahead of time.  After each fold is read, the girls will spread the whip cream color that corresponds with the fold on top the pancake. By the end of the Program each girls should have a rainbow topped pancake for them to enjoy.

bbg gardens: girls plant a seed in their mini flower pot which they design for themselves, and we discuss how we want to grow and blossom in bbyo. The girls will plant their seeds and then will get to take their flower pot home and watch it grow.  This will then lead into a discussion about Tu B'Shvat and ecological awareness.

Nesichot will wear teal PJ's and Kesher will wear Pink PJ's to the program.

Jewish Heritage (pink) Judaism is the common bond between every girl in BBG. Programming is an integral method to help girls understand and appreciate Judaism.  Judaic programming can center around traditions, prayers, culture (song/dance/food), Israel, values and Judaism in pop culture.

2. Community Service (orange)This fold emphasizes and stresses the Judaic tradition of tikkun olam, meaning “the repairing of the world” in Hebrew. Community service programming can be direct or indirect. Direct community service, for example, can be volunteering for an organization, and indirect community service could be raising money for a specific cause.

3. Social Action(yellow)  This fold focuses on educating BBGs on what’s happening in the world around us, and various challenges facing the global community. Not only does this fold focus on education, but it also focuses on taking action. Programming includes signing petitions, writing letters, distributing pamphlets, and anything that vocalizes the issue. This fold helps BBGs bring a positive change to their communities and make a difference in our world.

4. Recreation(green) This fold deals with the opportunity to get girls off their feet and moving! This fold covers anything that gives members the opportunity to have fun and interact with their sister BBGs.

  • MBA This is sub-fold of recreation. MBA stands for Mind-Body-Attitude. MBA focuses on addressing issues of self-esteem, body image, eating disorders, the media and its effects, lifestyles, etc.

5. Creativity(blue) This fold focuses on expressing yourselves and your opinions in new, interesting and relevant ways in order to make a greater impact. Basically, it focuses on expressing yourself in your own unique way. Programming under the creativity fold ranges from the arts to cooking to acting/improv games, etc. It can be anything you are passionate about.

6. Sisterhood(purple) Sisterhood is not just a fold; it is the essence of BBG. Sisterhood teaches us about the role of women as well as how we can support each other as sisters. Sisterhood programs build enthusiasm and dedication for BBG. The programs focus on bringing us closer together, as well as addressing the issues that each of us, as young Jewish women, face (feminism, relationships, etc.).
