 stern Region's MIT-AIT Convention! MIT-AIT Convention is specifically for
  new members of Eastern Region to learn all about BBYO\, participate in m
 eaningful Shabbat services and meet other Jewish teens from Virginia\, No
 rth Carolina\, South Carolina and Georgia. \n\n20 of Eastern's upperclass
 men have already been hard at work planning a fantastic weekend for the 1
 00+ teens that will attend this convention. From get to know you games\, 
 to cabin activities\, to creating a meaningful mock chapter experience an
 d more\, this weekend is sure to be filled with long-lasting friendships\
 , new experiences and fun! \n\nBelow is the information for the weekend a

 Region MIT-AIT Convention-November 1-3 Camp Weaver\, Greensboro\, NC \nAT
 TENDEES:  All new members to Eastern Region BBYO from Virginia\, North Ca
 rolina and Dixie Councils (South Carolina and Southern Georgia) along wit
 h 20 upper class members\, BBYO staff and advisors. \nPURPOSE: MIT-AIT is
  a convention planned specifically for new members to BBYO. Programming d
 uring the weekend will revolve around the basics of BBYO: programming\, h
 istory\, and how chapters function. Teens will experience their first BBY
 O Shabbat which will be led by Rachel Wolman\, a song leader from Richmon
 d\, who will be our guest for the weekend. A dance will be held on Saturd
 ay night with our favorite DJ\, Eric Kelly. The participants will have th
 e opportunity to meet other Jewish teens from North Carolina\, Virginia\,
  South Carolina and southern Georgia\, learn all about BBYO and have a gr
 eat time. \nCOST AND REGISTRATION: The cost of the convention is $215 (no
 t including transportation). Registration is open & will close at midnigh
 t on Thursday\, October 17th.  \nTO REGISTER: Go to www.tinyurl.com/mitai
 t19 and fill out our secure registration form. Make sure you are answerin
 g all questions (specifically those about food and medical allergies\, t-
 shirt size and roommate requests).  If you are having a problem registeri
 ng\, please call the regional office at 704-944-6834 and we will be happy
  to take your payment over the phone. Refunds will not be given if you ca
 ncel the week of the convention.      \nSCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarships are av
 ailable for MIT-AIT Convention. The deadline to submit scholarship applic
 ations is Sunday\, October 6th at midnight. The scholarship form must be 
 completed online at: https://bbyo.org/regionalscholarship/ Each family wi
 ll be contacted\, via email\, by the regional office with the amount of s
 cholarship awarded by Tuesday\, October 8th. Once you accept the scholars
 hip\, the regional office will register you for the convention and then y
 ou can pay the balance. If you are requesting scholarship money\, please 
 do not register online until awards are announced.   \nREQUIRED FORMS: BB
 YO has developed a relationship with CampDoc\, the leading electronic hea
 lth record system.  All participants are required to complete a health fi
 le before attending a BBYO convention. Once a teen has registered for the
  convention\, you will receive an email inviting you to join CampDoc. Acc
 ept the invitation & complete all the forms. These forms provide dietary\
 , medical and other important information. Teens will not be allowed to a
 ttend without a complete profile.  \nSUPERVISION: The convention will be 
 staffed by BBYO professionals and chapter advisors. There will be 1 staff
  person for every 15 teens.   \nACCOMMODATIONS AND WHAT TO BRING: Please 
 bring toiletries\, sleeping bag\, pillow\, towel\, nice clothes for Frida
 y night Shabbat\, a plain white T-shirt and clothing for inclement weathe
 r. Besides Shabbat\, the attire for the weekend is casual. The teens will
  be staying in heated cabins. The food will be kosher style – no mixing o
 f milk and meat. When meat is served it is kosher.   \nEMERGENCY: BBYO Em
 ergency # 804-402-1036 \nARRIVAL/DEPARTURE/TRANSPORTATION: Registration w
 ill begin at 6:30pm and dinner will be served at 8:00pm on Friday\, Novem
 ber 1st. The convention will end on Sunday\, November 3rd at noon. Your l
 ocal staff will help arrange transportation. A transportation and logisti
 cs email will go out one week prior to convention and will include transp
 ortation costs and timing for each city. Transportation cost is not inclu
 ded in the convention fee. Teens are never allowed to drive to BBYO conve
