MORE THAN AN ORGANIZATION - IT'S A MOVEMENT

BBYO is more than an organization. It's a movement. A way to set yourself apart -- while coming together with other Jewish teens.

With more than 600 chapters worldwide, Aleph Zadik Aleph (AZA) and B’nai B’rith Girls (BBG) offer a place for teens to grow our movement and create change surrounding today’s critical issues, while being inspired to live Jewish lives and make a difference in our communities.

October was a very busy month for our nine chapters across Toronto & York Region:

  • More than 170 teens came to hang out with friends, meet other Jewish teens from across Toronto and York Region and make a difference through the power of community at BBYO's Annual Lock-In! This year's event featured all night access to Area51 Lasertag and Orion's Playground, plus a dance marathon, interactive contests, big screen gaming, late-night Poutine, and more! Plus, significant funds were raised to support participation in Jewish life for teens in our community and around the world. Click here for photos from BBYO's Annual Lock-In.
  • Eleven members interested in furthering the depth of their involvement were appointed to the Regional Chair Network, with portfolios that include Israel Engagement, Ruach (Hebrew for "spirit"), Yearbook, Community Engagement and more.
  • Sixteen new teens became founding members of our newest chapters, Dayan AZA #1215 and Dor Chadash BBG #2404, launched at the Schwartz/Reisman Centre with support from UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, expanding our reach to nine chapters across Toronto and York Region.

All said, more than 80,000 Jewish teens around the world are having the time of their lives with BBYO - and we're seeking new teens to join us! Check out our Upcoming Events below and spread the word to your friends!

BBYO CANADA 90TH ANNIVERSARY - PARENTS AND ALUMNI ARE INVITED TO JOIN US

This year marks the 90th anniversary of BBYO in Canada. We have had a long and distinguished history and many of our alumni have made positive contributions to their community, province and country. BBYO has throughout these ninety years promoted teen leadership and involvement that has helped sustain and grow our Jewish community.

To celebrate our 90th anniversary, all parents and alumni are invited to attend a special Havdalah service during Fall Convention on Saturday, November 26, 2016 (A more formal invitation will be sent out shortly). This will be an opportunity for parents and alumni to experience the BBYO program in person and see the work that the teens have put into making this a special evening. Following the program, parents and alumni are invited to join members of the Board of Directors at a reception. Save the date of Saturday November 26, 2016 and stay tuned for a formal invitation coming soon.
