Director's Note

Happy (almost) Passover and welcome to the April edition of our monthly eNews, filled with exciting updates from across Toronto, Vaughan and Richmond Hill.

I'm so excited to share that membership across the Greater Toronto Area is up 18% and we just welcomed 61 new prospects during Spring Rush Week programs that included BBYO's Annual Lock-In (click for photos), BBYO Open House at Yogurty's (click for photos) and Snakes & Lattes BBYO Edition (click for photos). Of course we also hosted our largest-ever Limo Scavenger Hunt (Grades 6-8) in support of the Passover Food Drive (click for photos).

Over the next month, there's even more to look forward to. As always, check out the Upcoming Dates section below for all the awesome events and programs coming up soon!

See you soon!

J-Serve 2015

In April, more than 11,000 Jewish teens from around the world will serve their communities and make a difference for J-Serve, the Global Day of Jewish Youth Service.

J-Serve Toronto takes place on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at TanenbaumCHAT Wallenberg. Choose one of more than a dozen service project options, and join over five hundred Toronto-area teens for the Global Day of Jewish Youth Service.

Remember, the spirit of tikkun olam, repairing the world, and tzedakah, just and charitable giving, is realized whenever people come together to better our world. To register for a J-Serve project, click here. Join J-Serve Toronto on Facebook here.

JDC-BBYO Fellow Spotlight: Liz Heifetz, Tbilisi, Georgia

Liz Heifetz, the JDC-BBYO Fellow based in Tbilisi, Georgia, has been working with local professionals to create meaningful connections between teens in the Young Jewish Club (YJC) and BBYO teens in North America. YJC was officially welcomed into the International Order of BBYO this past August at the AZA and BBG Executives Conference and, since then, they have participated in many of our programs including sending a delegation to Atlanta, Georgia for BBYO IC 2015. To welcome their new Georgian friends, BBYO teens from all over the world created a video you can find here, and here you can see YJC’s video response!
