We look forward to hosting you for South Jersey Region’s Global Shabbat. Our event will take place at Congregation Beth El, located at 8000 Main St, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043 on December 13, 2019, at 7:00 PM. You'll be joining us for Friday night Shabbat services, followed by an Oneg.
In honor of BBG’s 75th anniversary, we are honoring incredible Jewish female leaders from our community. We are excited to host the following women at our event:
Melinda Kane - Melinda Kane is a mother, an advocate for veterans and families, a teacher and small business owner, and member of the Board of Freeholders for Camden County. As a member of our community for over 40 years, Melinda has dedicated herself to giving back to Cherry Hill and Camden County.
Hilary Platt - Hilary has dedicated herself to helping families in need in South Jersey. At Jewish Family Children’s Services’ Project SARAH, Hilary has built a thriving chapter of Project S.A.R.A.H. (Stop Abusive Relationships at Home), a statewide initiative that provides multi-faceted services to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse including a hotel room for an evening, financial support, and counseling.
Campbell Schwarz - Campbell is a unique young woman who worked diligently over the past year while preparing for her Bat Mitzvah to raise money to refurbish a Holocaust Torah as a living memory of those who were lost.
Ruth Scott - Ruth is a single mom and a self-made entrepreneur. She is the Cupcake Queen of Cupcakes by Ruth and has built her business form the group up first as a PTA mom. Ruth also gives back to the village that has given to her as she serves on the Temple Emanuel Board of Trustees.
Sara Sideman - Sara is an active member of the South Jersey Jewish Community. She loves working at JCC Camp at Medford as the Associate Director where for the eight weeks each summer she gets to make incredible experiences for campers and staff! Additionally Sara is very involved at Temple Beth Sholom where she sits on the Strategic Planning Committee and is a graduate of the President’s Leadership Institute.
Jennifer Dubrow Weiss - Jen has dedicated herself to a life of service to the community, Jen is currently the CEO of the Jewish Federation of South Jersey, where she has been spearheading the development of the Weinberg Commons, which will be providing much needed affordable housing and services for older adults and adults with special needs.
