Emma Abramson, a proud BBG of Aviv BBG #2545 of BBYO Westchester Region, was recognized by the Mayor of her town for being a strong advocate for the US-Israel relationship and the town’s only delegate at AIPAC Policy Conference 2015.
We are excited to share with you the materials that the International Execs Body received last week at the AZA BBG International August Executives Conference.
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” - The Lorax. As we concluded our business meeting at the 2015 International August Executives Conference on Sunday, our Shomeret Ha-brit, Maddie Fleischmann from Southern Region: Atlanta Council, shared this quote with the executive body. After spending a weekend with the Regional and Council Presidents of our Order, this quote couldn’t have been more fitting.
On Friday, August 14, 2015, the Executive Leaders of the Aleph Zadik Aleph (AZA) and the B'nai B'rith Girls (BBG), the high school leadership fraternity and sorority of BBYO, passed a motion to ensure BBYO continues to be fully gender inclusive and pluralistic.
A motion was just passed at #AZABBGExecs2015 to broaden the way we think about our philanthropy. ISF will be the need-based scholarship fun for any Aleph, BBG or Jewish teen across our movement, a fund for AZA and BBG to use for charity - at the grassroots, Order-wide and in times of crisis, as well as where we total all of our BBYO Stand Up philanthropy efforts.
