General Questions:

  1. Who Can Attend Winter Convention?

    • Any 8th through 12th-grade member of BBYO Big Apple Region is eligible to attend Convention. If you're not a member, you can sign up here! 🎟️

  2. Can 8th Graders Attend Convention?

    • Yes, 8th graders who are BBYO members are welcome! 🎒

  3. What's Included in my Convention Registration?

    • Your Fee covers bus travel from Brooklyn or Queens/Great Neck, all meals from Friday dinner to Sunday brunch, hotel accommodations, and convention speakers and programs! 🚌🍴🛏️

  4. Early Bird Discount?

    • The early bird price for Convention is $460. Watch out for flash sales and early registration offers happening October 18th - November 1st! ⏰

  5. Refund Policy:

    • The deadline for refund requests is November 15th at 11:59 PM. Email Regional Director Yair, at [email protected], before the deadline. 📧

  6. Scholarship Availability:

    • Yes, scholarship applications are due by November 15th @ 11:59 PM. Email Regional Director Yair, at [email protected], with your request for scholarship before the deadline. 📧

  7. Registration Closing:

    • Registration closes at 11:59 PM on November 27th or when our busses fill up, whichever comes first. Secure your spot today! ⏳

Logistics:

  1. Packing List:

    • You'll receive a packing list from your Regional S'ganim and staff the week before the Winter Convention. 🎒

  2. Bus Information:

    • Buses depart from Brooklyn an Queens/Great Neck around 12/1:00 PM on Friday, December 15th. Exact location details will be released closer to the Convention. 🚌

  3. School Excuses:

    • BBYO can provide written excuses for leaving school early on Friday. Contact Yair at [email protected] for a letter. 📝

  4. Early Departure:

    • We leave early on Friday to beat traffic, arrive before Shabbat, and allow time to prepare for Shabbat celebration. 🕰️

  5. Accommodation:

    • Teens will sleep in double hotel rooms with members of the same gender. 🏨

  6. Roommate Options:

    • If you prefer fewer roommates, upgrade to a room with one other person for $530 (Earlybird) or $560 after November 16th. Email Yair at [email protected] if you are interested. 🛌

  7. Adult Supervision:

    • Adult staff and volunteers will ensure safety, security, and health, maintaining a minimum ratio of 1 adult per 20 teens. 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

Food and Dietary Needs:

  1. Meals:

    • Vegetarian, kosher-style meals will be provided all weekend. Indicate if you require Glatt Kosher on the registration form. Teens will be told to have a filling lunch before the bus ride! 🍲

  2. Dietary Needs:

    • Specify allergies and dietary restrictions in your CampDoc.com responses. All convention meals are kosher-style; specify if you need glatt kosher meals (certified kosher). 🍽️

  3. Medication:

    • Teens are responsible for administering their own medication during the Convention. Detail medications on your CampDoc.com profile. 💊

    • After registering, you'll receive an email from CampDoc.com to complete your profile. Profiles must be 100% complete by November 30th for attendance. 📧
