Event Details

Join BBYO and Congregation Beth David for Global Shabbat!  This program will involve a Shabbat service with your regional friends, dinner, and a discussion on how to create Jewish spaces which are understanding of different faiths and accepting to Jews of all backgrounds.

We are honored to be joined by two community leaders: Rabbi Nathan Roller from Congregation Beth David, and Rabbi Lisa Levenberg of Kehillat Cornerstone.  Teens will also have the opportunity to reflect on these important topics and work towards a better understanding of this year's Global Shabbat theme: Hand in Hand.

Please note: COVID vaccination is required to attend this event, per the health and safety guidelines of our hosts.  BBYO staff will be checking COVID vaccine cards at the door, and you must show your card or a photo of it to attend Global Shabbat.

Who is welcome at Global Shabbat?

Anyone!  Teens, parents, and siblings; BBYO members and those who are not, anyone is welcome to join us.   The program will be capped at 50 attendees to ensure COVID safety protocols are observed.

What happens at Global Shabbat?

Our program will begin with a service led by Rabbi Roller in the sanctuary.  After the conclusion of Friday services, we will adjourn to the social hall where we will have dinner, have an casual discussion of the evening's topic with our panel, and then present table topics for small groups to dive into on a more intimate level. 

When is Global Shabbat?

Friday, December 10 from 6-8 PM.  Services will begin at 6, so PLEASE make sure to arrive in time to be checked in.
