What is Kallah?

We are so excited to have the first opportunity of the new year for CRW to come together and celebrate our community! This convention is the high point of the fall semester for many people in Central Region West.

Kallah will offer a weekend in the Santa Cruz mountains with friends where you'll be able to explore and reflect on who you are and what matters to you. You'll hear from inspiring leaders, have powerful conversations with your friends, rep your chapter's spirit, sing, dance, play, and we'll celebrate Shabbat together. This is our opportunity to be a light to one another.

Who is invited?

Kallah is open to all BBYO members in 8th through 12th grade. You must be a member to register. Not a member yet? Click here

Q&A

Will there be bus transportation?

We will provide bus transportation for those joining us from the East Bay at no additional cost. There will be further communication soon for those getting transportation from the Easy Bay. For those coming from the Peninsula or South Bay, chapters should make sure to help one another with arranging carpools. Teens cannot drive themselves to or from convention.

What are your COVID procedures? Tell me about your safety protocols.

All teens, guests, staff, and advisors must take an at-home COVID test on the day of arrival to convention. You will be expected to show a photo of your test taken Friday with your name and date written to be allowed to check in.

At present, masking is not required at regional conventions, but any teen who wants to wear a mask may do so.

We are keeping a close eye on ever-changing circumstances and may communicate updates to any of these policies or procedures prior to convention start.

BBYO reserves the right to test any participant.

Do you provide scholarships? How does that work?

Scholarships are available and are need-based (based on income and specific circumstances). We work with BBYO International’s standardized scholarship process, based on an IRS form threshold, in order to make the process more equitable to our families. Please note that the process will work as follows:

Please first register for the convention to lock in either the Flash Sale price or Early Bird discounted price. You will then fill out a scholarship request form at this link. Scholarship applications are due by October 1st at 11:59 PM PT. All convention fees must first be paid in full at the time of registration and before applying for scholarship unless the family has had a conversation with the CA Community Director, Liz Weisman, at [email protected].

After scholarship allocations have been decided in the following week, you will receive an email from our team indicating your scholarship allocation, and your scholarship amount will be retroactively subtracted from your registration fee and refunded back to your original method of payment.

Note: we cannot allocate full scholarships.

What’s your cancellation policy?

The deadline to cancel with a full program refund is the final registration deadline for this program (October 22, 2023 at 11:59 PM). Until that date, full refunds will be granted for cancellations in writing (email is acceptable), for any reason. After the registration deadline, partial refunds may be available based on convention expenses already paid (lodging, transportation, etc.), but are not guaranteed. “No shows” will not receive a refund.

In the event of emergency circumstances, please contact our office.

Have other questions? We're happy to help -- please feel free to contact us at [email protected]. Note that key details like packing lists and other pre-convention information will be sent by email closer to convention to all participants.
