Cost: Grant was put in for $330 on 11XL cheese pizzas, one small pasta platter, and one small side salad platter, sodas, and desert.

We put in a game changer grant for $330 on 11XL cheese pizzas, one small pasta platter and one small side salad platter. We are also getting soda and desert. We believe that if we advertise food at the meetings we will get more members and prospects joining us.

Outcomes:

  1. Return to BBYO

  2. Prospects join

  3. People have fun

Our goals are to see that a lot of our returning members are still interested in BBYO and a lot of younger prospects who we can introduce what our programs are like to them so that they join and want t0 come back to meetings in the future. We also want people to have fun. This is the first program that both of us are making as S’gan and S'ganit so we want to start it off the right way.

Supply List:

  • Pizza, salad, and pasta (food in general)

  • Extra tables and chairs, blankets for people to sit on and relax.

  • Old Adirah/ Gottleib merch for prizes

  • Backyard games (Kam Jam, Spikeball, Football ect.)

  • Nametags

  • Text to sign in

  • Garbage bags

Our supply list only has a few items and we will be using the resources that are already at the beach. Hoping that the pavilion is open we will use that, but if it is not, then we are going to bring tables and everyone coming can bring a chair or blanket if they want. We will also bring some old merch as prizes for the games, we are bringing food, and backyard games to play at the end while everyone can get to know each other some more and socialize.

Audience:

Teens of Fairfield county 9th-12th grade (AZA and BBG) looking to have a good time.

Program Outline:

  • Arrival

  • Icebreakers and games

  • Eat

  • Get to know BBYO

Hosting: We are going to a public beach in Fairfield.

We are going to be at the beach. A lot of our icebreakers/activities are either in one big group or a few small groups of about 5 or so people. This will make sure that everyone is engaged and if they are not one of us will go up to them and make them feel comfortable in our activity.

Pluralism in Action:

As it is the first meeting of the year, people are going to want to hang out with their closer friends who they may not have seen all summer. This means that we will need to leave some time at the beginning and end, but also plan our activities around that so everyone is included.

Time Frames:

5:00-5:15: Arrival (hand out name tags, text to sign in, put cans on table for drive)

5:15: Welcome everyone & Introduce Board.

Hey everyone!!! Welcome to the Adirah and Gottlieb Beach Kickoff!! I’m Zoe Dvorin, Adirahs S’ganit or Vice president. And I’m Jack Adwin, Gottlieb’s S’gan or Vice President! And we are both in charge of planning all of the meetings this year! We are so excited to get this year started with so many exciting things coming soon! Tonight we will be doing a bunch of fun activities and icebreakers, as well as eating pizza & pasta in a bit! Then at the end you guys will get time to hangout, meet new people, and learn some more about BBYO!!! But first, we are gonna introduce Adirah’s 11th board, and Gottlieb's 45th board!

Adirah: N’siah- Audrey Bowman, S’ganit- Zoe Dvorin, Mit Mom- Leni Charette,

Shlicha- Alecks Mantell, Gizborit- Rachel Elbirt

Gottlieb: Godol - Mitchell Haynes, S’gan - Jack Adwin, Moreh - Mason Katz, Mazkir - Dylan Graf,  Shaliach - Asher Feldman, Gizbor - Alex Brenner,  Ozer - Nate Thomas

Now that we have our boards introduced, let's go down to the sand and start our first activity!

5:25: Big Circle

(Name, Grade, School, If you were to host a dinner party with three celebrities, who would you invite?)

5:40: Where The Wind Blows

(give quick explanation of what how to play, one of us can say an example of what one would be, and then actually start playing the game/icebreaker)

5:50: 1 Thing In Common:

Now we are going to split you guys into groups of 5 and you will each have about 3 minutes to discover a weird or interesting fact that you all have in common! Each person in the group must apply to this fact. An example could be that all of your grandfathers were in the army, but don't actually use that one! Then, we will all come back together and share, and the group with the most interesting fact will get a prize of old BBYO merch!

6:05: Would You Rather Speed Dating:

Our next icebreaker is going to be would you rather speed dating. We have a bunch of questions that we can ask you guys and then you can discuss your opinion with the person across from you. (proceed to try to get even lines of Gottlieb and Adirah, if it does not work that's ok with some overlap. Once everyone is in their lines then we can ask about 15ish questions from the site below.)

  1. Would you rather spend a day without your phone or a day with no people at all?

  2. Would you rather have no air conditioning or no heating?

  3. Would you rather be an only child or have ten siblings?

  4. Would you rather only use Netflix or only use Hulu?

  5. Would you rather win an Oscar but not get to attend the ceremony or present an Oscar but not win anything?

  6. Would you rather break everything you touch or get shocked every time you touch something?

  7. Would you rather live 100 years in the future or 100 years in the past?

  8. Would you rather perform at the Super Bowl halftime show or play football in the Super Bowl?

  9. Would you rather have to switch closets with your dad or only wear the clothes your grandma buys for you?

  10.  Would you rather have a famous family member or be the famous family member?

  11. Would you rather wear winter clothes all year long or summer clothes all year long?

  12. Would you rather date someone three feet taller than you or three feet shorter than you?

  13.  Would you rather work at Chick-fil-A or work at the fanciest restaurant in town?

  14.  Would you rather be allergic to chocolate or allergic to bread?

  15. Would you rather always smell bad around the person you like or always say something embarrassing around the person you like?
