HOUSING

Spring Convention is a home-housed convention meaning Columbia BBYO families will host the teens from out of town in their homes for the weekend. All events will be held at the Columbia JCC and the teens will sleep with their Columbia host families. BBYO will provide dinner upon arrival on Friday night, lunch on Saturday and lunch on Sunday.

  • We request that all Columbia BBYO families, with teens participating in the convention, open their home to our out of town guests. Housing teens makes the weekend more fun and can foster lifelong friendships.
  • Columbia families, please complete the digital housing form by Sunday, March 17th. BBYO will manage and assign all housing arrangements – Columbia teens can request an out of town teen to stay at their house and out of town teens can request a home to stay in.

HOUSING RULES

 • Parents are responsible, not only for their child, but the children they are housing at all times. You MUST be at your home during the weekend of the convention to be eligible for housing. You also must be at home when the teens are in your house, during Chofesh (free time) and after the end of the evening’s program. It is imperative that the host family knows where the teens are at all times.

• The participants MUST be at the convention when the events begin and must remain until the events are over.

• It is the responsibility of the host home to provide transportation to and from the programs.

• BBYO will provide dinner Friday night, lunch Saturday and lunch on Sunday. We ask the host family to provide breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning and dinner on Saturday night.

Driving Policy

Driving to, during, or from the Dixie Spring Convention is prohibited.  We are asking families that are housing teens to provide transportation to all events.

REQUIRED FORMS

BBYO has developed a relationship with CampDoc, the leading electronic health record system. All participants and parents are required to complete a health profile before attending a BBYO convention. Camp Doc must be completed once a year. If the teen has attended a regional convention this year just update the forms if there are changes in the medical information you provided. If this is the teen’s first convention this year, once you have registered for the convention, you will receive an email inviting you to join CampDoc. Accept the invitation and complete all the forms. These forms provide dietary, medical and other important information.

SUPERVISION

The convention will be staffed by BBYO professionals and advisors. There will be 1 staff person for every 15 teens.

ACCOMMODATIONS AND WHAT TO BRING

Please bring toiletries, sleeping bag, pillow, towel, nice clothes for Friday night Shabbat/States, and clothing for inclement weather. The food will be kosher style – no mixing of milk and meat.
