About Evergreen Region
BBYO Evergreen Region (EGR) is comprised of chapters in Oregon, Washington and Idaho. EGR currently has 12 chapters in 6 different communities:
Portland, Corvallis, and Eugene, OR.
Seattle, Mercer Island, and Tacoma, WA.
Boise, ID.
Together, Evergreen Region represents over 400 Jewish teens in our area. By becoming a member of Evergreen Region, teens are afforded the opportunity to experience local programming in their communities, regional programming such as community service, sporting events, and weekend-long conventions, and international programming at large scale conferences and BBYO Summer Experiences.
Our chapters hold events every week during the school year at locations around the region. Events are planned by teens, for teens and programming ranges from fun activities to more serious programming around social justice, Judaics, and leadership development. An advisor or regional staff member is always on hand to ensure safety and health.
Fun Fact: Evergreen Region is known throughout the world as the “Chillest in the Order!” EGR is unique and outspoken, putting a Pacific Northwest twist into BBYO.
Through youth-led and staff-supported programs, Evergreen Region gives our members opportunities to develop leadership skills and positively affect their communities, the world, and themselves. We constantly strive to provide more Jewish teens with more meaningful Jewish experiences each and every day, so that they may become the next generation of leaders in their communities and in the Jewish world.
We are immensely grateful to the Samis Foundation for their generous grant, which has played a pivotal role in establishing and sustaining our Seattle City Director position. Their support has empowered us to strengthen our engagement with the community, drive positive change, and create a lasting impact in the city of Seattle.
